Biography
Katherine Brand is a senior executive with more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, investment management, strategic planning, and business operations. Throughout her career, she has advised companies ranging from emerging businesses to established middle-market enterprises, helping organizations navigate growth, capital formation, operational challenges, and long-term strategic initiatives. She has worked on more than $5 billion in financial transactions and managed an $800 million portfolio of corporate relationships.
As Chief Operating Officer of Valiant Funds, Katherine oversees the firm’s operations, financial management, investor relations, compliance, and business development activities. She works closely with leadership to evaluate and execute investment opportunities across digital infrastructure, energy, tax-advantaged investments, and other alternative asset strategies while supporting the firm’s continued growth and expansion.
Prior to joining Valiant Funds, Katherine served as a Managing Director at Monroe Credit Advisors and held senior leadership positions at Bank of America, where she developed extensive experience in corporate finance, risk management, and relationship management. Her background spans both advisory and institutional finance roles, providing her with a broad perspective on business strategy, investment analysis, and execution.
In addition to her executive leadership responsibilities, Katherine is an active educator and industry contributor. She has authored numerous research reports and industry analyses and teaches graduate-level courses focused on financial technology, digital assets, artificial intelligence, and innovation in financial services.
Katherine earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston University and a Master of International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
