Scott is a senior legal and business leader with more than 25 years of experience guiding organizations through complex transactions, regulatory environments, and strategic growth initiatives. Over the course of his career, he has led multidisciplinary teams, managed large client engagements, and advised boards of directors and executive leadership on high-stakes corporate and governance matters. His leadership experience includes managing major transactional teams, mentoring attorneys and professionals, and helping shape firm policies and operational practices within a large national law firm environment.

Before joining Valiant, Scott served as a senior partner in the Corporate and Securities Practice at an AmLaw 25 law firm, where he advised public and private companies, private equity firms, and emerging growth businesses on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and corporate governance matters. In that role, he led teams handling complex strategic transactions and served in several firm leadership capacities, including roles related to training, information governance, and practice group management. His work frequently involved counseling boards and senior management on securities law compliance, disclosure obligations, and critical strategic decisions. Earlier in his career, Scott served as the Deputy General Counsel at a publicly traded biotechnology company as well as a Supervising Senior Auditor at a Big Four accounting firm.

Scott earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and received a B.S. in Accounting and Finance with high honors from Lehigh University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, a background that informs his approach to complex financial and regulatory issues in transaction, organizational and governance matters. In his spare time, Mr. Jones is a scuba diving instructor and a yoga instructor.
